To change the computer name, to join a domain, use the Computer Name tab in the System Properties dialog box. To locate this tab, use one of the following methods:
[Warning: Before you change computers membership from Workgroup to Domain, be sure that you know the user name and the password for an account in the local Administrators group]
> Click on change settings.
> Then click on change in the computer name tab.
> Change the computer name and tick mark on member of domain, and enter the valid domain name.
> And then click OK.
> Another popup window will be open, to enter the name and password of an account with permission to join the domain.
> And then click OK.
> After that you must restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
- Click start, right click on my computer, and then click properties.
- Run command sysdm.cpl.
- Click start, control panel, click on system and security (in windows 8.1), and then click on system.
